Workshops with Martin Lewis and BA Fine Art Students at NTU

Following the success of Wasted Labour at the Nottingham Castle Open 2015, we've been looking further into the use of rowing machines as a tool for drawing and performance, through a short series of workshops with BA Fine Art students at Nottingham Trent University (NTU).

Working collaboratively, artists and students worked together to devise new works that interrogate the rowing machine as a sonic instrument, dance tool, and installation - examining notions of contemporary gym culture, efforts of human labour, and meditation achieved through the repetition of physical acts.

A series of new works are emerging which we hope to pursue, alongside the students, throughout 2016.

More images, videos and updates coming soon.
