Wasted Labour

Created in collaboration with Martin Lewis: http://www.martin-lewis.org/

The first in a series of works in which the artists draw upon durational drawing and dance choreography to reflect upon physical labour and its relationship to the body.'Wasted Labour' marks the beginning of a developing series in which Lewis and Ballard explore the use of leisure machinery such as rowing machines and playground roundabouts as tools for drawing and performance practices. Here, they move back and forth on the seats of rowing machines to question whether the repetition of physical actions is a form of wasted labour.
