Alison Ballard

Commissioned by Metal for NetPark and supported by Arts Council England.

A narrative audio work exploring the ambiguities between reality and fiction that we encounter in everyday life. Geo-located in Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK, it forges a relationship between the audio, the location, and your presence within it. Real events and imagined lives are brought together in a heart-breaking story of loss, grief, and mental illness. A moving experience with content that some people may find challenging.

About NetPark

This app was commissioned as part of NetPark, an exciting initiative developed by Metal to create an added visitor attraction to the usual stroll in Chalkwell Park, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK.

The provision of wi-fi across the park enables a variety of digital projects to be downloaded and experienced by visitors.

Project partners in the research and development phase of the project were Calvium and the University of Brighton
